Each member of the class needs to have a blog here at Blogger.com. Even if you have a blog elsewhere, this one is strictly for Humanities class; we will all read, write, and comment on the blogs of classmates, so be forewarned.The Nuts and Bolts
We will be using blogs this year as a way to think about what we have read, to facilitate classroom discussions, and to consider the opinions of others in the class. The Amity Acceptable Use Policy will govern your behavior on these blogs. Having a real audience is one of the key components of our blogs. In addition to receiving comments from your classmates (and teachers), you will also leave comments for classmates. The blog assignments will be part of your English grade the first semester, at least. As with other projects this year, you will receive a rubric for these assignments. The rubric will include a section for the comments you leave on other students' blogs. Students using blogs are expected to act safely by keeping personal information out of their posts. You should not post or give out your family name, password, home address or other information that could help someone locate you in person. You may share interests, ideas, preferences, and opinions, of course. You should not share your password or username with anyone beside Ms. Hastings or me. You may never log in as another student. While you use these blogs, you are expected to treat blog spaces as classroom spaces. Speech that is inappropriate for class is inappropriate for your blog. While we encourage you to engage in debate and conversation with other bloggers, we also expect that you will conduct yourself in a manner reflective of a representative of our school.

- Sign in to Blogger. Use your amityschools account.
- On the left, click the Down arrow

- Click New blog.
- Enter a name for your blog.
- Click Next.
- Choose a blog address or URL.
- Click Save.
